Looking forward to 2018
It's hard to believe that this project has run its course. It seemed crazy a year ago, but now I am filled mostly with a sense of accomplishment and thanks for the support shown by friends and family in doing what they could to support the site and podcast.
Next year I'm thinking about something a little different, probably not committing myself to a book a week, but definitely wanting to focus on books by authors of color. Here are a few that I am really excited about in the coming year.
This Will Be My Undoing by Morgan Jerkins
An American Marriage by Tayari Jones
Halsey Street by Naima Coster
Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata
Bury What we Cannot Take by Kirstin Chen
If You Leave Me by Crystal Hana Kim
A River of Stars by Vanessa Hua
Number One Chinese Restaurant by Lillian Li
A Place for Us by Fatima Farheen Mirza
What We Were Promised by Lucy Tan
I know this list just scratches the surface but I hope it is a good start for many of you looking to diversify the content of your bookshelves.
